Welcome to Artisan Vault – A unique, niche perfumery plus more in Austin, TX!

Oliver is a senior at a local high school and passionate about scents and fragrances and has been enchanted with them since a young boy. He has spent close to a decade researching and testing fragrances including accompany his father on numerous work trips all over Europe. In Europe, he learned how scents are created including a family trip to Grass, France – the perfume capital of the world. In Grasse, perfume is a family story just as it ours. Here, Jasmine is so delicate it still must be picked by hand. Before the tiny flowers can wilt, they are quickly transported to a factory less than a mile away where the pure flower scent is extracted. It takes 7,000 – 10,000 jasmine flowers to produce 2 pounds worth over $59,000! The fields of Jasmine, Roses and even Oud are to die for. The original perfume factories and scent laboratories began here and can only be experienced in Grasse. To truly experience the creation and composition of a perfume, one must experience making their very own scent in Grasse from the freshest ingredients.

Oliver also experienced memorable small, charming shops throughout Europe but particularly in France, Brussels and Italy. These charming shops were dedicated solely to perfumes, colognes and other scents. He enjoyed exploring all these places had to offer. Oliver was disappointed that such experiences were rare and hard to find here in the US. So, Oliver at a young age developed a vision of combining his European experiences in those charming places in Europe with a taste of his own individual flare and passion that he could bring home and share with others.

After developing a business plan, saving money he made from other endeavors, taking relevant business classes and selling his vision to investors, landlords, the City of Austin, distributors, wholesalers and the like, Oliver’s dream finally came to fruition and the Artisan Vault was born! In addition, Oliver found just the right space and location in an eclectic part of Austin for this very unique, niche experience. The store includes old brick walls, wood floors, wood ceiling and just the right mix of authenticity with Oliver’s charm. The Artisan Vault is in the SoLa neighborhood of Austin, TX.
